Ely Yannick Ahouno
Global Youth AMBASSADOR
My name is Ely Yannick Ahounou, hailing from Mauritania. I am a trainer, volunteer, and cultural entrepreneur with a passion for making a positive impact. I hold a master's degree in linguistics from the University of Gaston Berger in Saint Louis, Senegal, where my research focused on the sociolinguistic study and linguistic variability of languages used in the world of hip hop in Mauritania.
As an artist, I am a proud member of the Desert Devils Crew, where I express my creativity as a bboy. I also had the honor of serving as a choreographer and leader for the CAN (African Cup of Nations U20) in Mauritania. Additionally, I am a founding member of "Compagnie des Arts de Vie, CAV," an organization dedicated to promoting social change and development through the arts.
I am privileged to be a Global Youth Ambassador of the Young Creative Leaders (YCL) community, where I double my efforts to engage in civic challenges and personal development. During the International Volunteer Forum in 2018 in Moscow, Russia, I had the pleasure of meeting Edenamiuki, the Global Director of Young Creative Leaders. Our shared conversations highlighted our common interests and aspirations.
Since joining as a Global Youth Ambassador, I have embraced the mission to challenge myself and work towards our shared goals, including advocacy, networking, and performing arts. One significant milestone was the implementation of the GLOBAL HIP HOP HISTORY program, which was delivered to CAV with the support of the YCL. This initiative has further strengthened my commitment to using the power of hip hop to inspire and bring about positive change.
I am proud to say that CAV now supports the YCL Rotation Dance Exchange agenda, which focuses on youth development through various hip hop dance styles. By merging our efforts, we strive to create opportunities for young individuals to explore their passion for dance and develop their skills, fostering personal growth and empowerment.
